An award is also called the distinction, and it is for the recipient as a token of recognition of outstanding achievement in a certain field. Also, awards help to showcase the accomplishments, efforts, and skills that inspire others. All types of awards given to respect the individual’s noteworthy achievements in their field. 

What Is National Awards?

The national awards are honors by the government to people for achieving excellence in various fields irrespective of their age, category, occupation, religion, etc. Also, this award is open to all Indian citizens as well as institutions registered in India or created by the government.

National Awards In India

As said above, the awards presented by the Indian government to people who do exceptional service and performance without considering their age. List of Civilian Awards

Civilian awards founded in 1954 to recognize individuals with commendable accomplishments in their respective fields. Also, this award is given on republic day and acknowledges the awardees by the Indian president. 

Bharat Ratna

It is the most prestigious civilian award in India bestowed on individuals for achievements in science, arts, literature, and public service. In 2013, sports also included in this category, and in 2014 Tendulkar conferred this award. 

Padma Vibhushan 

It is the second-highest civilian award in India to individuals for their extraordinary achievement in the field of arts, science, and this type of awards for employees of public service of the government sector. This award is also honors by the president of India during republic day every year.

Padma Bhushan 

Padma Bhusan is the third-highest medal for citizens awarded by the government of India. And it is honor for the outstanding service in many different fields.  

Padma Shri

Padma Shri is the fourth-highest civilian award presents by the government of India. Also, the accolade is to honor individuals for achievement in various fields, including government services.

List Of Gallantry Awards

Param Vir Chakra 

It is the highest military award in India conferred to the people for national bravery acts during wartime. The Param Vir Chakra award founded in 1950 and honor twice a year, on Independence Day and Republic day.

Ashoka Chakra 

The Ashoka Chakra is the most prestigious peacetime gallantry award established in 1952. In 1967 it renamed to recognize the act of bravery, prominent acts of courage, and also self-sacrifice achieved in the absence of an enemy.

Mahavir Chakra

The Mahavir Chakra is the second-highest military honorary award in India. After Param Vir Chakra, this award is honor for the act of visible chivalry in the presence of the enemy on land or at sea, or in the air. 

Vir Chakra

It is the third-highest wartime gallantry award. Also, this award confers to the soldiers and army officers for their acts of bravery during the war on the land, in the air, or at sea.

Kirti Chakra

The Kirti Chakra is the second-highest peacetime gallantry award confers to army personnel. Previously, Ashoka Chakra II established in 1952, and in 1967 it renamed as Kirti Chakra.

Shaurya Chakra

This Indian military award honors to the army personnel and the civilians for their act of bravery or self-sacrifice while not engaged in direct combat with the enemy.

List Of National Sports Awards

Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna

It is the highest sporting honor in India established in 1992, awarded annually by the ministry of youth affairs and sports India.  Besides this award is for spectacular performance in sports over four years at the international level. Firstly, it named as Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, and in 2021 after Dhyan Chand’s achievement the name  changes to the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award.

Arjuna Award

Arjuna award is India’s second-highest sporting honor established in 1961. Though after many revisions in 2018, this award confers to disciplines falling under the categories of games includes Olympic, Paralympic, Asian, commonwealth, world championship, world cup, indigenous, Para sports, and cricket.

Dronacharya Award

This award instituted in 1985 and awards for excellent coaches in sports and games who consistently enabled sportspersons to excel in international events. Moreover, it named after Drona, a character in Mahabharata.  

Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar

This award introduced in 2009 to recognize the involvement of voluntary organizations, corporate, and sports control boards. Also for the promotion and development of sports in the country. 

Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Trophy

This accolade is for the excellent performing institutes in sports besides, promoting competitive sports in the university over the preceding years. 

List Of Literary Awards

Jnanpith Award

It is also known as the Gyanpeeth Award instituted in 1961. This award offers to Indian writers for their excellent work and dedication to literature in any recognized language of India.

Sahitya Akademi 

This award instituted in 1954 and given annually to Indian writers who have written in any of the 24 languages recognized by the Sahitya Akademi. Also, Rajasthani is documented; despite not being the official language. 

Yuva Puraskar

It  is introduced in 2011 and given by Sahitya Akademi. For the first or best book of an author to promote youngsters. Also, the awardee must be under the age of 35 and have written 24 languages recognized by Akademi.

Saraswati Samman

K.K. Birla instituted this award in 1991 to the author who contributes to authors for their work in the 22 Indian languages recognized by the composition. Also they does not include English in their constitution.

Cross Book Awards

This award instituted in 1998  given for acclaimed and famous novels written by Indian authors. Moreover in 2000 they offered authors that they can write in any Indian language and translate into English.Also starting 2004 Hutch Essar sponsored and now awarded in the name of  Hutch Crossword Book Award.

The Hindu Literary Prize

It is established in 2011 by the Hindu literary review, also this award is  for the best literary fiction written in English by an Indian citizen. The hindu literary prize includes full-length novels and short stories are eligible. The award focuses on adult literature.

List Of Cinema Awards

Dada Saheb Phalke Award

It is the highest award in Indian cinema, established in 1969. Officially it is to award the recipient for their excellent contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema. Also, these types of awards for actors who achieved the highest height in the film industry.

Swarna Kamal – Golden Lotus Award

This award established in 1990 and given for the best Indian cinema; in India. Moreover in recent time soorarai Pottru has won this award.

Rajat Kamal – Silver Lotus Award

India’s prestigious national awards instituted in 1954. Also, awarded to producers and directors of the film, and many more categories. It is an excellent chance to showcase their talent in the film industry.
